SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for Provides support with the daily activities of a medical office including filing, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, registration, and patient referrals by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

· Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a charge slips for response by medical personnel.

 

· Schedules appointments.

 

· Greets and directs patients and visitors.

 

· Check-in/Checkout patients.

 

· Verify that patient's record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system.

 

· Coordinates referrals for patients as needed.

 

· Coordinate new patient referral notes for every new patient scheduled.

 

· Collects payment from patients and reconciles daily cash reports.

 

· Post daily payment batch.

 

· Count Petty Cash Daily.

 

· Verify Insurance.

 

· Scan and file documents.

 

· Other duties as assigned.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and

Computer software.
