What is the Job all About?

Supporting the Lab Services team onsite at the Newark, DE office by doing a range of tasks that covers both the Laboratory and Office needs.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

1. Housekeeping:

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of lab equipment.
  • Dispose of waste materials in compliance with safety regulations.

2. Reagent and Media Preparation:

  • Accurately prepare and label all reagents, solutions, and media.
  • Maintain proper documentation and storage of reagents and media.
  • Ensure all media are prepared in accordance with lab protocols.

3. Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory levels.
  • Order supplies and materials as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

4. Metrics and Reporting:

  • Track and record laboratory metrics and counts.
  • Prepare and send regular reports to management and relevant departments.
  • Analyze data to identify trends

5. Sample Reception and Assistance:

  • Receive and log incoming samples.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of samples.
  • Assist laboratory staff with experiments and procedures as needed.

7. Document Management:

  • Scan, archive, and maintain laboratory documents and records.
  • Assist the managers in gathering all invoices and organizing it to be ready for processing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for document retention.
  • Facilitate easy access to archived documents as needed.

8. Supply Ordering:

  • Order and manage supplies for the office and the lab.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Maintain records of orders and deliveries.

9. General Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to laboratory personnel and management.
  • Coordinate meetings, appointments, and schedules.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as required

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory or similar environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory management software.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.
