Quality Manager

SUMMARY
This is a senior leadership position and is accountable to lead a team of employees to define, effectively implement, and ensure adherence to company quality systems and quality protocols, build relationships with customers and comply with their quality requirements, and to continually improve the manufacturing process to achieve world-class quality and flawless launches. Experience with surface finishing and class A automotive products is ideal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Establishes for high standards of quality, reliability and safety.
- Lead and/or participate in APQP/PPAP activities
- Monitors production department’s conformance with Quality Assurance standards and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Maintains Customer Specific Quality System Requirements
- Conducts Quality Assurance training for employees.
- Suggests methods for improving product quality.
- Interfaces with Program Mgmnt, Materials, and Manufacturing.
- Leads Quality Department
- Leads IATF16949 initiatives.
- Responsibility to act as liaison with external parties (customer & supplier) on matters relating to the quality system.
- Help define production process parameters to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Develop, document, and provide for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality.
- Create and update process Control Plans and FMEA.
- Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Perform Problem-solving Techniques
- Perform Process Capabilities using Statistical Techniques
- Read and Interpret GD & T
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

- Safe Launch / Containment Inspectors
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
*Associates Degree in Quality Engineering or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training in Quality or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively read and interpret blue prints;
ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, groups of associates,
management representatives, suppliers and customers. Ability to utilize computerized word processing and
e-mail systems in the day-to-day functions of the job.
Reasoning Ability:
Requires analytical and problem solving knowledge, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. Exposure to extreme heat or cold may be encountered. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Work will typically be from eight to ten hours per day, five days a week, with occasional travel, by car or commercial aircraft, for external meetings with customers. Must be able to travel on short notice both nationally and internationally.
