Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Regional Technical Service Manager (RTSM) to lead and support our HVAC contractors in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest level of service and customer satisfaction. The RTSM will work closely with service teams, technicians, and other departments to achieve operational goals, while also representing the company to clients, vendors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead and manage HVAC maintenance and service teams to ensure high-quality onsite service delivery.
  • Scheduling & Support: Coordinate and provide technical support for HVAC technicians, ensuring efficient service schedules.
  • Sales Accountability: Understand sales targets and hold the team accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
  • Quality Control: Review and evaluate the work of technicians to ensure it meets established quality standards.
  • Training & Development: Organize weekly training sessions and provide ongoing support for installation teams to enhance their skills.
  • Recruitment: Recruit, interview, hire, and train HVAC contractors as needed to meet workload demands.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with appliance standards, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Flexibility: Be available to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice. Travel as needed, often on short notice.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as required to maintain the efficient operation of the department.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Completion of a vocational, training, or apprenticeship program in HVAC is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a willingness to pursue additional training in HVAC.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of advanced air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating principles. Proficiency in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Personal Skills: Reliable, self-motivated, with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces and handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Licenses: Valid driver’s license and passport required.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as required, with an average of 50% travel time.
  • Legal Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
