Construction Accounting Administrator

Company: A thirty-four-year-old privately owned commercial construction firm that specializes in commercial hospital property maintenance, restoration, repairs, remodeling, and roofing.  
Corporate Office Location: Miami, FL
Status: Full-time employee
Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting.
Education Level: Accounting Classes or Degree in Accounting a must.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with knowledge, experience, and job duties.

Responsibilities:  National Group is seeking a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn as a full-time construction accounting administrator with strong organizational skills to support our office.

•    Review of all field time and allocation to the proper job and making any adjustments to correct time for personnel.
•    This position does not require payroll processing; however, this position will be responsible for approving time and attendance for the purposes of payroll processing. Mistakes on hours worked affect the payroll allocation as well as billing.  
•    Materials, Equipment and Transportation (MET) report approval takes someone who understands what equipment and what material is used on each construction job including identifying the cost of any transportation.  This daily report provides a picture of what is being used for each job. The person in this position must be able to identify those items to the company pricing list to create an all-encompassing invoice for customers which also includes employee time and attendance.

•    High attention to detail is required for this position and includes responsibilities that involve creating excel reports and google sheets.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:   
•    Accounting classes or a degree is a must.
•    Must have at least 5 years’ experience in general accounting duties.
•    The person must be DETAILED in their nature.  
•    Experience can come from payroll or other accounting experience.  
•    Construction or restoration experience in accounting is a plus.
•    Must have computer literacy, including strong experience in MSWord, MS Excel (multiple spreadsheets to create and maintain).
•    Ability to work under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Strong organizational skills a must, the ability to work independently with strong multi-tasking abilities.
•    You must be a team player with an active can-do attitude, and someone who takes pride in their work by going that extra mile.
