Job Purpose & Responsibilities

With DTN experiencing growth, we aim to find new sales talent to join our team. To be successful as an inventory consultant, you should be up-to-date with all the latest developments in the motor vehicle industry but mostly have a passion for sales. You should be able to identify a customer's needs, recognize their buying signals, and close the deal without being aggressive.

The Inventory Consultant is responsible for speaking with clients and potential customers to help them learn about the services provided by DTN. Their duties include meeting with clients, explaining how the company’s products or services function, and providing training for the product or service. A successful sales consultant will also meet all sales goals and KPIs.

  • Respond to incoming leads primarily by phone and email.
  • Utilizes all available resources to identify and engage dealerships looking for or selling inventory.
  • Set up appointments with potential dealerships to discuss possible car deals or options when available.
  • Executes the DTN sales process as trained to ensure proper sales processing.
  • Manage all required documentation according to the sales process for all sales.
  • Participate as a contributing member of the overall sales team by maintaining a professional working relationship with coworkers and clients.
  • Stay current with the latest auto make/models/trim details as part of ongoing development and training.

Pay Detail

  • $37,500 annual salary + Commission + Bonus Opportunities
  • Tiered Commission Structure
    • Gold: $0 - $350K = 12.5%
    • Elite: $350K - $750K = $22%
    • Oscar: $750K+ = 30%

Classification & Hours

  • Full-Time (40 hours/week), M-F: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Classified as Exempt, Salaried

Experience

  • 1-2 years of sales experience required, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Previous experience as a GM, Finance Manager, Floorplan Manager, Senior Sales Consultant

Education

  • High School, Undergraduate degree preferred
