Summary/Objective: Under the general supervision of the Director of IT/GIS, the GIS Manager will provide research, planning, technical support, staff coordination, business development, and execution for all company GIS infrastructure, products, and services. The position serves as the primary contact/technical resource and is responsible for the reliable and efficient delivery of all GIS–related services to both internal and external clients, and other duties as assigned.

  • Manage Esri customer account; license, install, maintain, troubleshoot desktop & server deployments
  • Supervise and develop technical GIS staff/contractors
  • Assist and supplement GIS Technician with project billables
  • Thoroughly understand all technical workflows with an eye for GIS integration and process improvement
  • Plan, lead and execute the company’s GIS vision, as directed
  • Market GIS services & software to internal and external clients
  • Effectively represent the company as a GIS subject-matter expert to internal and external clients

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies

  • Esri Software Suite, SQL, AutoCAD
  • Effective communication with technical/non-technical staff and clients
  • Strong preference for experience in the energy industry and/or familiarity with the principles of land surveying

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, IT, or related field
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for educational requirements
  • 5+ years in the installation, support, and operation of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Pro and SDE/Server/Enterprise applications 
  • Supervising/developing technical GIS staff/contractors

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • 10+ years in the installation, support, and operation of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Pro and SDE/Server/Enterprise applications 
  • Integrating geospatial applications into new and existing business processes
  • FME & Python process automation
  • GISP Certification
