Position Overview

CALIBRE Systems, Inc., a distinguished employee-owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation firm, is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to contribute to our impactful initiatives. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Sustainable Range Program at Fort Irwin, focusing on the development, analysis, management, and dissemination of standardized geospatial data and services.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing geospatial data in accordance with established Quality Assurance Plans.
  • Collaborating with military and civilian personnel to create and manage GIS data.
  • Conducting field data collection and GIS program management.
  • Producing maps and geospatial products for diverse stakeholders.
  • Creating web maps and providing GIS training and support for exercises.

Additional duties encompass:

  • Performing initial Quality Control (QC) on all acquired data and generated geospatial representations.
  • Documenting QC issues and maintaining required geospatial metadata.
  • Preparing and submitting regular progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Generating geospatial data, databases, and applications in alignment with SRP and IGI&S standards.
  • Engaging in meetings and conference calls as scheduled.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in ESRI's ArcGIS desktop and catalog, with the ability to recommend software and hardware enhancements.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro 2.1 and familiarity with both raster and vector datasets.
  • Ability to conduct spatial analysis using ESRI's ArcToolbox.
  • Knowledge of SQL in a relational database context.
  • Experience with Trimble mapping grade GPS hardware and software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to navigate challenging terrains while carrying equipment.
Desirable Attributes

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with the US Army Sustainable Range Program.
  • Experience with FGDC metadata schema and large format map production.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and ArcGIS Server.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing geospatial data to meet standards.
Experience Requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of two years of professional experience in GIS, including:

  • Creating and updating digital data layers and maps for resource management.
  • Utilizing GPS data collection and field mapping techniques.
  • Working on government contracts or task orders.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field with GIS Certification.

This position may require occasional travel.

Compensation

The base salary for this role ranges from $67,000 to $73,000, commensurate with experience.
