Position Overview

CALIBRE Systems, Inc., a distinguished employee-owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation firm, is seeking a GIS Analyst to contribute to the Sustainable Range Program at Fort Irwin. The selected individual will play a pivotal role in the development, analysis, management, and dissemination of standardized geospatial data and services to enhance range modernization and operations.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

  • Developing geospatial data in accordance with established Quality Assurance Plans.
  • Collaborating with military and civilian personnel to create and manage GIS data.
  • Conducting field data collection and GIS program management.
  • Producing maps and web-based geospatial products for diverse stakeholders.
  • Providing GIS training and support for customized exercises.

Additional responsibilities encompass:

  • Performing initial Quality Control (QC) checks on acquired data and geospatial representations.
  • Documenting QC issues and maintaining required geospatial metadata.
  • Generating regular status reports for CALIBRE and the Installation.
  • Creating maps for project development and training exercises.
  • Engaging with an interdisciplinary team to ensure alignment with installation needs and programmatic requirements.
Required Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in ESRI's ArcGIS desktop and catalog.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro 2.1.
  • Knowledge of raster and vector datasets, including spatial analysis capabilities.
  • Familiarity with SQL in a relational database context.
  • Experience with Trimble mapping grade GPS technology.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to navigate challenging terrains while carrying equipment.
Desirable Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with the US Army Sustainable Range Program.
  • Knowledge of metadata standards such as SDSFIE and FGDC.
  • Familiarity with spatial analysis extensions and large map product tracking.
  • Two years of professional experience in GIS-related roles.
Educational Background

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field is required, along with relevant work experience.

This position may involve occasional travel.

Compensation: The base salary for this role ranges from $67,000 to $73,000, commensurate with experience.
