Sr. Staff Accountant – Hoffman Estates, IL
$70,000 to $80,000/annually with full benefits

The Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for the accounting activities of the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP). The position will be responsible for account reconciliation and monthly maintenance of the general ledger. In addition to excellent technical and analytical skills, the Sr. Staff Accountant will need strong interpersonal skills to work across functional boundaries and throughout all levels of the organization, including the Executive Management team, operations, sales, and outside relationships including auditors.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Documenting financial transactions by entering account information
  • Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports
  • AP AR and bookkeeping activities
  • Performing Bank Reconciliation for multiple bank accounts
  • Administer general business activities which are related to accounting measures
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls
  • Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation
  • Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correction journal entries for account discrepancies, prepares closing journal entries, posts accrual entries, and prepares financial statements
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting strongly preferred
  • Distribution or manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong moral and ethical code
  • Competency Excel, advance functions is a plus
  • ERP experience
