Cambium Networks is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Controller with strong public company experience and interested in contributing to the success of an exciting and fast-moving company. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience as a Corporate Controller working in a global fast-paced operation and must be a hands-on manager, who has good interpersonal skills, prior SOX and public company experience, has a successful track record in leading finance teams as well as being results focused. Working in a lean corporate environment will provide exciting opportunities for a driven individual who is keen to add value and form a world-class team. Position reports to the CFO and directs five senior accounting managers with a focus on accounting, financial reporting, tax, credit collections, and internal controls.
Scope of Responsibilities & Position Expectations
- Performs/reviews and manages the daily, weekly, and monthly financial activities across all entities.
- Fully accountable and responsible to ensure that each Business Unit generates accurate, timely, and complete monthly financial information, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Forecasts, ensuring reporting to management per defined timelines.
- Directs preparation of monthly and quarterly Consolidated Financial Statements in conformity with US GAAP.
- Review the monthly/quarterly/annual bank and regulatory reporting for timely and accurate compliance. Bring all concerns promptly to the CFO’s attention.
- Ensures external financial filings made accurately and timely.
- Coordinates the audit processes across the Group, involving the CFO as needed, and ensuring that the audit report is issued in a timely fashion to meet bank and SEC deadlines.
- Provide final sign-off of key GAAP/revenue recognition and other technical finance queries.
- Ensures adherence across all companies to corporate accounting policies and procedures and provides guidance to all entities ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Briefs the CFO on all relevant financial reporting matters including earnings calls and other external facing information.
- Works with the CFO and CEO on all Audit Committee, Board, and financial reporting related matters including SEC reporting.
- Oversees the SOX process.
- Directs the subsidiary accounting.
- Monitors Balance Sheet account reconciliations with the review of key accounts.
- Monitors and improves accounting operations in all entities.
- Coordinates the tax processes across the Group, involving the CFO and/or always keeping him in the loop. Direct the corporate taxation strategy to optimize Cambium’s tax position including the lowest tax rate.
- Issues the necessary direction at year-end (and any other time) to direct the finance team(s).
- Control transfer pricing (with the Tax Manager, as and when needed) and make necessary changes/recommendations. Control the review process and direct the policy formulation.
- Review capital purchases to ensure capitalization is appropriate.
- Special projects or other Ad-hoc requests as directed by the CFO, such as internal audit, M&A, investigatory, private equity related, etc.
- Travel including international travel might be required.
- Help with the hiring, onboarding, training, development, and mentoring of key talent.
- Using background and experience help drive best practice across Cambium.
- Manage a team of ~20-25 and provide ongoing people development and engagement.
- Requires a BS/BA with Accounting concentration.
- CPA, proficiency in US GAAP with SOX and Public Company experience.
- 20+ years in mix of public & industry accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry setting.
- 7+ years Corporate Controller experience in a company with foreign subsidiaries, some of which should be US Public Company.
- Strong technical accounting including revenue recognition principles.
- Experience with SEC reporting.
- Experience with working with internal and external auditors.
- Strong internal control skills including significant Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Experience in international accounting (transfer pricing, inter-company accounting, foreign currency, consolidation).
- Experience with US and international income taxes.
- Strong leadership skills including supervisory experience in managing 10+ employees including multiple site employee management.
- Must have a proven ability to mentor and motivate people.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to influence others.
- Ability to scale with company rapid growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be a team player able to work with all levels through to Executive Staff and Board Members.
- High attention to detail, works accurately and quickly and has good organizational skills.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines including ability to manage multiple tasks to completion at the same time.
- MBA a plus.
