Position Summary: The Healthcare Operations Specialist oversees the effective supervision of Patient Transportation services, focusing on client relations, patient satisfaction, quality standards, patient flow improvements, performance enhancement, and personnel productivity. This role involves planning, organizing, and managing daily Patient Transportation and Hospital activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and established policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Foster positive customer service relations with patients, families, visitors, and staff.
- Ensure safe and efficient transportation of patients and timely delivery of related items.
- Address and resolve complaints related to Patient Transport Services.
- Promote company culture, values, and management philosophy.
- Utilize effective dispatching logic to maximize productivity.
- Monitor task and personnel status, aligning with budgetary and performance objectives.
- Identify and resolve operational issues; make recommendations to direct reports.
- Maintain a safe, orderly work environment; ensure dispatch equipment is functional.
- Ensure departmental compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct continuous improvement programs through staff observations and surveys.
- Support financial objectives by managing departmental budget and expenses.
- Analyze workload trends and staffing levels; make staffing recommendations.
- Evaluate subordinates’ performance, set goals, and administer disciplinary actions.
- Manage staffing schedules and ensure accurate records and time sheets.
- Oversee add-on services like patient observation, lift, courier, valet, or shuttle services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Strong management, organizational, and time management skills.
- Analytical ability to interpret data and identify operational trends.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and hospital personnel.
- Ability to withstand frequent walking, standing, or sitting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer literacy.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May require CPR or BLS certification.
