As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you oversee payouts and review financial transactions for multiple branches. In this role, you will process payment invoices, help create reports on financial activity, and coordinate with other accountants to ensure all records are accurate. As Sr. AP Specialist you will resolve problems and discrepancies, respond to vendor inquiries, research invoice copies, check billing documentation, and manage other financial processes as needed. Many senior specialists in this field also manage other staff and help train new employees within the accounting department, delegating their own work as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
  • Handling accounts payable for separate branches
  • Analyzing workflow processes
  • Audit and review invoices for processing and management approval
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
  • Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
  • Processing due invoices for payments to vendors
  • Research discrepancies for resolution
  • Submit monthly accruals and closeouts
  • Reconciliation of vendor statements
  • Manage GL accounts
  • Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
  • Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS or AA degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Accounting, preferrable as a Lead AP Specialist
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office Suite
  • Able to juggle multiple projects
  • Strong accounting fundamentals
  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP and recent accounting trends
  • Positive can do attitude
