Location: San Diego, CA 92121 / Sorrento Valley

Shift: 1st shift, M-F

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in material handling or a similar role. Pallet Jack experience is preferred and familiarity with computer applications such as Word, Excel, and SAP is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Management: Receive, verify, locate, and store materials used in the manufacturing process. Ensure accuracy in material handling to meet production needs and quality specifications.
  • Internal Delivery: Execute material picks for internal delivery to production cells, ensuring timely and accurate supply to meet production demands.
  • Packing & Loading: Pack, load, and unload various conveyances, handling materials with care to prevent damage and maintain quality.
  • Inventory & Audits: Conduct regular audits for inventory, 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), and safety to ensure compliance with established standards and practices.
  • Material Movement: Efficiently move materials within the warehouse and manufacturing plant, optimizing space and workflow to support operational efficiency.
  • Power Equipment Operation: Operate power industrial equipment, including stand-up, sit-down, and order picker forklift trucks, to facilitate material handling tasks.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all company safety processes and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, earplugs, hard hats, gloves, and steel-toe shoes.
  • Team Participation: Actively engage in continuous improvement activities, contributing to team efforts to meet customer needs and enhance operational performance.
  • Flexibility: Work a full 8-hour shift, with potential for overtime and weekends to meet business demands. Demonstrate the ability to handle physical tasks including lifting, pulling, and pushing materials up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and performing tasks such as bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, and squatting.
  • Frequent use of material handling equipment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Work primarily within a warehouse and manufacturing site, with a requirement to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be prepared to work overtime and weekends as needed, with no travel required for this position.
