James Talcott Construction, Inc. is seeking a Construction Scheduler/ Project Engineer to work with our Great Falls, MT team and related construction projects of varying complexity.
The ideal candidate should have an excellent understanding of scheduling best practices, resource and cost loaded scheduling, overall construction project controls as well as the interpersonal skills to be able to work closely with internal stakeholders of the project team daily.


Primary Responsibilities

  • In-office/ onsite work is required. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
  • Ability to travel to office/ projects sites as needed and assess schedule progress.
  • Understand and apply construction industry standard scheduling best practices.
  • Develop and maintain high-level master schedules to manage projects through design, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Generate and update detailed construction schedules based on drawings review and input from project stakeholders.
  • Review sub-contractors’ construction schedules for compliance with sub-contract requirements, use of scheduling best practices, progress, and changes.
  • Coordinate schedule activities between various projects and stakeholders.
  • Prepare or review Time Impact Analysis and provide recommendations for impact mitigation.
  • Support team in the projects execution and accomplish project commitment and timing.
  • Assist in developing design cost proposals to respond to client requests.
  • Assist project managers with coordinating off-site and on-site resources for cost, schedule, change orders and management.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field of study.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in the construction industry, with construction project scheduling.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera (P6) and MS Project scheduling software.
  • Experience with developing, maintaining, and reviewing project schedules, including experience with cost and resource loading.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting architectural drawings.
  • Experience in the field during construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and complete priorities with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and capacity to develop and maintain relationships with Project Managers, Owners, Contractors, and other project team members.
  • Strong Proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
