Overview:

The IT Help Desk Support Specialist will provide technical support and assistance to our employees, ensuring that technology operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining our IT infrastructure and supporting our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-service-oriented mindset. This position reports directly to the IT Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware, software, network, and peripheral devices.
  • Respond to support requests via phone, email, or in-person in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating more complex problems to higher-level IT staff when necessary.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other office equipment.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees, including setting up workstations and user accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and other IT activities using a ticketing system.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures.
  • Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades and new technology implementations.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to employees on using company IT resources effectively and securely.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements to provide informed support.
  • Other duties as assigned by departmental leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with basic network troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-service-oriented with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong initiation, self-direction and completing projects.
  • Ability to communicate with management, dealers, vendors, co-workers and others in a professional manner.
  • Display personal integrity, dependability, credibility, and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
  • Experience with manufacturing software and systems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: The ability to move freely and efficiently throughout office spaces, as well as the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and navigating around machinery and equipment.
  • Flexibility and Dexterity: Must be able to bend, kneel, and crouch regularly to access equipment and work in tight spaces, such as under desks and in confined areas.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies frequently weighing up to 15 pounds, and occasionally weighing up to 50 pounds, including computer hardware, tools, and peripherals.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficient in using hand tools and handling small components and cables.
  • Vision and Hearing: Adequate vision and hearing to troubleshoot issues, read technical documentation, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required on production floor and other designated areas.
  • Must be able to drive between multiple facilities within a 2 mile radius (Megan Z Ave. & Air Park Rd.)

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the manufacturing work environment can be moderate to loud and is non-climate controlled.
