Part-Time positions available 7am - 4:30pm or 10:00am - 7pm for counter sales. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, friendly, and enjoy making others smile to work in a fast-paced bakery cafe. Strong organizational and listening skills are need to complete tasks, follow directions, and accurately serve customers.

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Bakery Counter Sales Associate with at least 2 years of experience in retail or food service environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baked goods, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. As a Bakery Counter Sales Associate, you will be the face of our bakery, responsible for providing excellent service, managing transactions, and ensuring our customers have a delightful experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with a friendly and positive attitude. Answer questions about products, make recommendations, and handle special requests.
  • Sales Transactions: Operate the cash register, process payments accurately, and manage cash/credit transactions. Ensure the cash register is balanced at the end of each shift.
  • Product Handling: Handle baked goods with care, ensuring they are packaged and presented attractively. Replenish display cases as needed, ensuring products are always fresh and appealing.
  • Order Fulfillment: Prepare and package customer orders efficiently and accurately. Handle pre-orders and special orders, ensuring timely preparation and delivery.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all health and safety guidelines. Regularly clean surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
  • Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or needs to the bakery manager. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the bakery team to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a retail, food service, or bakery setting.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Experience in handling customer inquiries and resolving complaints.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with a variety of baked goods, ingredients, and baking processes.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 25 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in handling orders and maintaining product displays.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
