The Gustave A. Larson Company is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of HVAC Counter Sales Specialist. What attributes are essential for success in this position?

As a prominent HVAC/R wholesale distributor operating across the Midwest and Mountain States, we prioritize exceptional customer service, adaptability, and the ability to manage various tasks while fostering positive relationships within our teams to achieve our objectives.

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Customer-Centric – Our commitment lies in serving a diverse clientele, including dealers, business proprietors, and major HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration) firms. We fulfill customer requirements by ensuring reliability at our service counters, both in-person and through effective communication channels.
  • Knowledgeable in HVAC Products and Industry - A solid understanding of residential HVAC systems is crucial, as this expertise enables you to recommend suitable equipment and systems tailored to our customers' needs. You will collaborate closely with technicians who operate in the field daily.
  • Passionate about Sales – Continuous improvement in sales techniques and product knowledge is vital to maintain a competitive edge in a fast-paced environment. This entails a commitment to enhancing your understanding of our technical offerings and maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
  • Detail-Oriented - Delivering exceptional customer service involves meticulous attention to pricing, quoting, credit terms, and order processing. This includes managing sales transactions and warranty documentation while ensuring the store is well-stocked and organized.
  • Appreciative of a Consistent Work Schedule – Our typical workweek is Monday through Friday, with weekends and holidays off.

  • Comprehensive Business Understanding - Our training program includes a thorough introduction to our business operations, allowing you to gain insights into various roles, including warehouse, counter, and inside sales.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in counter sales or customer service, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years of HVACR field experience and/or relevant degree/certification is preferred.
  • A combination of education and related experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • An enthusiastic, energetic, and customer-focused demeanor, thriving in a dynamic environment while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • *Flexibility regarding work schedule changes, willingness to work overtime, and occasional on-call duties during weekends (this presents additional compensation opportunities).
