We are looking for an entry level position to participate in our pie and kolache lines.  3-4 part-time and seasonal positions are available. High School Students are encouraged to apply.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious baked goods, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. As a Production Assistant, you will be responsible for setting up and working on the Pie and Kolache Lines, preparing fruit for the fillings, putting product away to ensure proper storage and rotation, ensuring high-quality standards, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. THIS POSITION REQUIRES LIFTING OVER 50 POUNDS. This position is an entry level position.

Schedule: 12p-8p 2 days a week; 3p-8p 3 days a week. *High School Students encouraged to apply* (3 positions open)

Additional Seasonal Schedule: 12p-8p 5 days a week; 3p - 8p 5 days a week. (4 positions open)

Job Location: Hobart, IN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Baking Preparation: Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and ensure the quality of product. Monitor the fillings and product.
  • Inventory Management: Receive and store deliveries properly, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and stored under the right conditions in proper rotation and labeling.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all health and safety guidelines. Clean equipment and tools after use, and ensure the kitchen area is sanitized.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other bakery staff, including counter sales associates and assistants, to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Reliable to work all scheduled shifts.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and precision, particularly in measuring ingredients and following recipes.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy bags of flour and other ingredients (can comfortably lift up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Good verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and occasionally interact with customers.
