Job DescriptionJob Description

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of heavy civil site work projects, with a specific focus on tilt wall construction. This role requires exceptional project management skills, in-depth knowledge of civil construction practices, and expertise in tilt-up concrete wall systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop and manage project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget for heavy civil site work and tilt wall projects.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Oversee the preparation and approval of project documentation, including permits, drawings, and specifications.

  2. Project Execution:

    • Manage daily operations on-site, ensuring that construction activities are performed according to plans and specifications.
    • Supervise the installation and erection of tilt-up concrete walls, including formwork, reinforcement, and lifting operations.
    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
  3. Tilt Wall Construction:
  • Oversee the tilt-up concrete wall construction process, including site preparation, panel fabrication, erection, and finishing.
  • Ensure proper coordination of crane operations and tilt wall placement to meet project specifications.
  • Manage tilt wall subcontractors and coordinate with other trades involved in the construction process.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. (A Master’s degree or additional certifications in project management or construction is a plus.)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management for heavy civil site work, with specific experience in tilt wall construction.
  • Skills:
    • Proven project management skills, including experience with scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
    • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices and tilt-up concrete wall systems.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
