Job DescriptionJob Description

The Shipping / Logistics Coordinator oversees all the out bound shipments to be delivered as requested by our customers. The duties also include analyzing all aspects of company logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting product to customers, selecting carriers and researching shipping methods.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Process and fulfill customer orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Preparing documents for Customs
  • Manage freight and ocean containers shipments.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Accounting and Production department to manage and to incorporate with company procedures and operations.
  • Develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with logistics standards as well as to find efficient ways for overall logistics operations.
  • Find the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting product
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit and delivery
  • Analyze delivery quality such as on-time delivery rate and damage rate and feedback to carriers.
  • Select carriers and negotiate contracts and rates.
  • Address delivery issues and ensure effective and long-term problem resolution.
  • Act as a point of contact for all logistic issues.
  • Investigate customer’s claim and handle action to avoid the same claim.
  • Maintain carrier profile, carrier rates and track carrier service, price and performance.
  • Analyze and recommend the best route/carrier based on cost/transit time to meet customer deadlines.
  • Schedule and coordinate trucks to deliver and pick up product by maximizing the load capacity of our in-house trucks
  • Prepares shipping and receiving documents accompanying shipments including packing lists, bills of lading, and all other required paperwork.
  • Communicate with warehouse personnel, drivers, office workers, etc to better our processes and procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and customs procedures is advantageous.
