We are actively recruiting for the position of Facilities Manager at Court One Athletic Clubs. This full-time, hands-on role spans our three locations in the Lansing area. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized self-starter, capable of scheduling and executing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact with Court One members, staff, vendors, and tradespeople. While this position offers flexible scheduling, it does require the ability to work nights, weekends, or respond to emergencies as needed based on business demands. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications, availability, and job performance. Benefits include medical, dental, optical insurance, vacation and holiday pay, and a 401k plan.

Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Managing the upkeep of indoor/outdoor pools and hot tub
  • Inspecting buildings’ structures to identify, assess and triage facility needs
  • Facility preparation for rentals, events, and parties
  • Communicate, plan and follow-up with club leadership and staff.
  • Actively help to develop more efficient and effective ways to operate our facilities
  • Planning and coordinating all installations and refurbishments
  • Loading, transporting, and delivering supplies and small equipment
  • Light to medium maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry
  • Five to seven hours a week behind a desk, working with a computer for planning and communication purposes.
  • Managing small staff of 1-3 employees

On occasion:

  • General facility cleaning/maintenance
  • Working on ladders, lifts, and roofs
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all club facilities, schedules, and equipment
  • Interaction with Court One Members
  • Backup customer service desk (rarely)

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly planning for multiple facilities
  • Strong Communication Skills (processes, updates, changes)
  • Excellent analytical/critical thinking with the ability to adapt/respond to adverse situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working with, and maintaining communication with contractors, renters, and club staff
  • Professional in appearance, demeanor, and presentation
  • Honest, trustworthy, and reliable
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • 18+ years old

Candidates with relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage, as well as those who have hands-on experience with:

  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Heating/cooling (residential and commercial)
  • Pools (indoor/outdoor)
  • Small Engine Repair
  • Networking
