Job Title: Survey Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Project Manager to join our team at PEA Group. As a Survey Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects related to land surveying, including the management of survey-related tasks for our industrial, commercial, residential, and energy/utility clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Consult with clients to determine survey specifications, equipment required, estimated costs, and schedule.
  • Lead and/or provide support for the development of project proposals.
  • Define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Establish goals for the projects and assist with achievement of QA/QC goals.
  • Provide leadership and management of the day-to-day operational activities for the preparation of survey drawings and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with field and office staff for project development and project delivery.
  • Manage project budget and analyze project profitability and revenue.
  • Facilitate team meetings with project team and evaluate the project.
  • Prepare client-billing information on assigned projects and manage collections on outstanding accounts receivable balances.
  • Identify additional scope and revenue opportunities that relate to the project and participate in business development activities.
  • Prepare and/or review and sign project contracts, change orders, and manage project scope in general.
  • Provide ongoing communication with the client related to the project.
  • Mentor PEA Group staff and cultivate strong working relationships with clients.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or equivalent - preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Surveyor or ability to become registered as a Professional Surveyor - preferred.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices - preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite - preferred.
  • 8-10 years of land surveying experience showing progressively increasing responsibility - preferred.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience in the professional services industry.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function effectively in a teamwork environment.
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently, prioritize workload, and cope with tight timelines to meet all deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Good mentoring skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; complete assigned tasks efficiently and exercise sound engineering judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and has an aptitude for noticing small errors on engineering designs.
  • Strong understanding of financial management.
  • Strong well-developed conflict resolution skills and ability to focus on client satisfaction.
  • Possess the ability to change focus quickly during a typical day.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work is performed mostly in office settings. Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various land use developments, construction sites, or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers, and various pieces of office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.

Availability:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and overtime as required.

Travel:

Travel will be required to respective job sites and is primarily local during the business day.
