We are seeking a Project Manager / Estimator Experienced In Wet Utilities to join our team You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation
  • Work closely with our field crews and various public agencies
  • Work with Senior Project Managers and design Civil Engineers on design build projects in the preparation of detailed plans on various projects.
  • Perform takeoff and costing, order material, letter writing and construction claim process
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and other technical documents
  • Must have solid knowledge of working with the City of San Diego, the White Book and Green Book.
  • Allocate resources for assigned projects
  • Interface with project inspectors, subcontractors, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments to estimates as needed
  • Ensure that all estimates comply with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in underground construction management 
  • Proficiency in contract interpretation and negotiation
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Expertise in wet utility construction estimating techniques
  • knowledge of wet utility construction estimating
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as B2W and Primavera P6
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawing and specs and general knowledge of negotiated bids and hard bids
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
