Business Development Intern

Emerging Tech is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship presents a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in federal contracting business development while actively contributing to various aspects of our operations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our business development team, assisting in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, conducting market research, and maintaining our pipeline.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and contacting potential teaming partners through email communication
- CRM Maintenance: Update and maintain customer relationship management (CRM) systems with accurate and up-to-date information on leads, opportunities, and contacts.
- Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the business development team, such as scheduling meetings, preparing meeting agendas, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Familiarize oneself with the company's capabilities and effectively communicate them to potential partners using a prepared script.
- Learning and Development: Actively participate in learning opportunities to expand knowledge of federal contracting processes, industry best practices, and relevant regulations.
- Filter contracts according to specified criteria and add pertinent information to the pipeline spreadsheet.
- Maintain a comprehensive tracking system within the spreadsheet for all partnering organizations, including notes on their capabilities, contract vehicles, and targeted agencies
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, and present information effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Interest in government contracting and business development.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen attention to detail.
