Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Senior IT Project Manager to lead and oversee large, complex projects. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, and integration with other systems. The projects typically last over six months, involve 20+ team members, and require communication with leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring project quality and meeting objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight (50%):

  • Monitor project cost, quality, and schedule to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Communicate plans and expectations to the team and stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation and track progress, issues, and risks.
  • Facilitate change management and resolve project issues.

Planning & Reporting (30%):

  • Develop and maintain project documentation from start to finish.
  • Manage project changes and communicate updates effectively.
  • Plan for staffing needs and select, train, and develop team members.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues and establish an effective communication plan.

Daily Coordination (15%):

  • Assign tasks and deliverables to team members and external providers.
  • Ensure smooth integration of tasks and routine administrative processes.
  • Assist and advise team members through regular meetings and updates.
  • Escalate issues and risks as needed.

Miscellaneous Duties (5%):

  • Participate in staff meetings and stay updated on new technologies.
  • Create standards and procedures for team use.
  • Provide internal training and contribute to special projects.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing IT projects with large teams (20+ members) or equivalent experience in project management.
  • PMP Certification is highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, system development methods, and IT hardware/software.
  • Ability to work in matrix teams, resolve conflicting requirements, and communicate effectively.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office setting with extensive computer use.
  • May involve occasional travel and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Position subject to stress and tight deadlines.
