Overview:

Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking a highly skilled Radio Frequency Engineer II to join our team in support of the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific Joint Tactical Aircraft Reference Implementation Laboratory (TacAir RIL) Engineering Services. This role involves providing RF engineering expertise to support emerging platform requirements, integration, and test support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in RF communications systems engineering and test and evaluation (T&E) experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering expertise to support emerging platform requirements definition and integration, including review of platform documentation, specifications, and drawings.
  • Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), teleconferences, and Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process events.
  • Offer technical and managerial expertise in communications systems, cybersecurity, and anti-tamper engineering.
  • Review functional performance and qualification test plans and procedures.
  • Verify complex system designs for conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Conduct technical risk and opportunity analysis and provide recommendations.
  • Provide RF circuits and systems engineering support, particularly in military communications.
  • Support system-level integration and test of complex real-time embedded systems.
  • Develop quantitative feasibility analyses to increase system effectiveness and integrate new capabilities.
  • Conduct technical investigations and provide guidance for system development and troubleshooting.
  • Support technical working groups (TWG) to resolve action items and summarize issues and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top-Secret level security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Bachelor's Degree in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or a related engineering or computer science discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Test and Evaluation (T&E) supporting programs and projects through various acquisition milestones and testing phases within the past 7 years.
  • Experience preparing, maintaining, updating, and reviewing test and test-related documentation for adequacy and compliance within the past 7 years.
  • Knowledge of RF devices and/or systems and RF communications systems engineering and/or integration.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Amplifiers, and other RF components.

Desire Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience with open architecture constructs such as Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C5ISR)/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS), Open Mission Systems (OMS), and Open Communication Standard (OCS) within the last ten years.
  • Five (5) years of experience with Low Probability of Detection (LPD) and Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) waveforms and anti-jam communication capabilities within the last 10 years.
