Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position requires the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to diagnose and repair all makes of medium and heavy-duty equipment. Responsibilities include removing, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling, and adjusting vehicle components such as engine components and fuel systems. The Equipment Mechanic will also ensure work orders are completed properly, select appropriate repair actions, and perform road calls and emergency services as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems for machinery and equipment.
  • Inspect and repair forklifts, tractors, and trailers.
  • Perform all required maintenance inspections and safety checks.
  • Service customers with their equipment needs.
  • Troubleshoot and submit repair bids to the Service Manager.
  • Perform required Preventive Maintenance (oil changes, lube, filter changes, etc.).
  • Submit all paperwork to the Equipment Service Manager on a timely basis.
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with the Equipment Service Manager.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Equipment Service Manager.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Ability to read and understand schematics.
  • Computer-assisted troubleshooting experience.
  • Basic general computer skills.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical working knowledge.
  • Understanding the mechanics of fabricating equipment (Preferred).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on construction rental/equipment maintenance experience.
  • Capability to start and operate equipment.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds, use arms and hands to operate tools, climb on and off equipment, and have good close and distant vision.
  • Valid and current driver’s license.
