First Baptist Church is looking for an enthusiastic, relational, Christian person to serve our church family as the office receptionist. Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and/or Administrator, the Office Receptionist is responsible for providing reception duties and office administration support for First Baptist Church.
The Office Receptionist welcomes all members and visitors to the church and directs them as needed. A warm and welcoming personality is a must. The administrative responsibilities vary but the office receptionist provides administrative assistance to help the pastors and staff facilitate the overall vision and core values of First Baptist Church. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Publisher, Outlook and the ability to learn and operate church database software are a necessity.
While this is a part-time position, it is an essential function of the church staff. Making phone calls to members, answering and directing all incoming phone calls, coordinating activity schedules and the church calendar, crafting the church bulletin and monthly publication, as well as maintaining membership records and assisting the lay leaders in the church are all functions of this position. Working with various city and government agencies conducting volunteer background checks (for those working with minors) and coordinating facility needs with the custodial staff are typical activities.
