Job DescriptionJob Description

The Port Captain is the leader of the marine crew. Their core responsibility includes recruiting, training and development of the crew, scheduling with the customers, developing procedures and enforcing crew policy. Additional duties may include, assisting with vessel maintenance, and data reporting.

 

Management position responsible to ensure vessels are crewed, operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations. May involve travel to multiple locations with extended stays away from the homeport. Implements standard procedures and guidelines for the operation of a safe and environmentally sound fleet. Ensures all vessel personnel comply with regulatory training requirements. Investigate vessel damage, product spills, and personal injuries. Ensures all appropriate authorized and company personnel are notified and that proper documentation is completed accurately. Supervise licensed and unlicensed personnel, and crew management development. Inspects vessels to ensure seaworthy condition and arranges for maintenance and repair activities to correct any deficiencies.

Employees are accountable to management and each other to ensure every task is done safely in accordance with Safety Management Systems or business unit procedures with the objective of continuously improving our processes.

 

Minimum Requirements

Must possess at a minimum a valid USCG Masters License Near Coastal 100 Ton

Proficient in use of computer software: Microsoft Office products

Must possess a valid TWIC Card

Must possess a valid state driver's license and passport for occasional travel requirements
