Job Description: Commercial Construction Estimator

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Estimator with
experience in estimating various commercial projects, including ground-up constructions,
tenant buildouts, and remodels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing
accurate cost estimates and developing budgets to support project bids and ensure
financial feasibility.
Responsibilities:
• Solicit information and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to compile
comprehensive bids.
• Prepare and manage bid instructions, forms, and other solicitation documents for
accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct quantity surveys and manage pricing efforts to develop accurate internal
budgets.
• Develop conceptual budgets based on limited project information, ensuring
feasibility and alignment with project goals.
• Review project-related documents, including general conditions, schedules, work
scopes, and logistics, to inform estimating and budgeting processes.
• Document and maintain detailed project information flow, ensuring all relevant data
is captured and accessible.
• Manage the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids to ensure alignment
with project specifications.
• Keep up to date with trends in construction materials and costs to provide accurate
and competitive estimates.
• Analyze project alternatives to determine the most economical options for
construction methods and materials.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, design teams,
contractors, suppliers, and user groups to facilitate project success.
• Engage in industry, client, and community relations to enhance the company's
reputation and foster positive relationships.
• Participate in the transfer of information for successful project execution and
collaborate closely with project managers upon project award.

• Assist in the preparation and review of work plans, ensuring thorough and accurate
planning.
• Proactively address issues with creativity and discretion, providing solutions to
potential challenges.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of estimating experience in general construction, with a focus
on projects ranging from $250k to $10M.
• Proficiency in estimating software, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, and Excel,
with the ability to leverage these tools for accurate cost estimation.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other construction
documents to inform the estimating process.
• Experience in resolving contract disputes and managing change orders, ensuring
that project scopes are clearly defined and agreed upon.
• Familiarity with various construction concepts, practices, and procedures to
provide informed estimates and recommendations.
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with personnel at all
levels, including management, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and
engineers.
• Willingness to attend pre-bid site meetings as required to gather information and
assess project requirements.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring that all estimates
are completed accurately and on time.
