Job title: Buyer and Sales Associate

Classification: Exempt, O/T ineligible

Salary range: $50-$60 annually, commensurate with experience

Benefits: Health Insurance, Vision and Dental Insurance option, 401k with company match at 2%, paid time off, and paid vacation

Reports to: VP of Sales, VP Merchandising

Summary/objective: This position works as a team player to ensure client needs are met and provide the highest quality of sales experience to clients. Tasks will vary dependent upon need, and willingness to be flexible and adapt is necessary.

Essential functions: You will be responsible for assisting client accounts to fulfill their purchasing needs. Tasks will include building relationships with clients, receiving, building, and processing orders, and coordinating with team members to ensure orders are fulfilled and completed in a timely manner. As a buyer/sales associate, you will also work closely with the transportation department to coordinate deliveries and receptions of products.

Competency: Basic knowledge of produce inventory and sales experience is preferred but not required. Must be proficient in basic math calculations. Must be a team player with a positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a desire to get the job done. A quick learner with the desire to gain new knowledge is preferred.

Supervisory responsibilities: None.

Work environment: United Fruit and Produce is a fast-paced, energized environment. Dependent upon the assignment, projects may require working in varying temperatures and locations around the properties, noisy environments, etc.

Physical demands: Employees must be fit enough to move about the facility to check on orders, occasionally lift at least 50lbs.

Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position with significant opportunities for advancement and compensation. Hours will vary dependent upon need, but will generally run from Monday-Friday, 6:00-3:30, and Saturday morning availability

Travel: Although travel is not required, employees must have reliable transportation to and from work to ensure punctual attendance.

Required education and experience: Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred education and experience—Education and experience are not required but are preferred. Experience in sales and or produce handling or other comparable work where similar skills are utilized is a plus.
