Bilingual Legal Receptionist/File Clerk -

We are seeking a dependable, organized and energetic person to join our team. Must be fluent in Spanish and English (writing, reading and translating). Answer the phones and taking messages. Filing into client files and subfolders. Assist clients when they come into the office. Make appointments for clients. Open mail and calendaring all deadlines. Fax documents,  follow up and make sure they were properly sent and no error occurred. Prepare and stuff envelopes with mail and enclosures. Call judge’s staff as needed relative to the case; keep track of the correct name of the judge on each case as they can change. Keep addresses and telephone numbers correct and up to date in the computer file. Should possess excellent organizational skills;. Proficient in Word and type a minimum of 40wpm. Some light typing is required. Minimum 1 year legal experience.

The paralegal/legal secretary position has more flexibility in scheduling. My current paralegal/office manager has been with me over 15 years. Our other secretary was her four years, but has a family illness and had to leave. Our receptionist was here six years and can no longer work.
