Position Summary:

The New Equipment Sales Manager will lead the sales team to achieve enterprise sales targets, drive new product sales, and support overall business growth. This role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of sales processes, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Leadership and Strategy Development

  • Demonstrate strong sales leadership by setting and achieving ambitious revenue targets through the sales team.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the major engineering firms, contractors and top end users with the goal to increase share of wallet in sales.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan covering sales revenue, expense controls, and sales metrics to meet and exceed company objectives.
  • Lead weekly sales team meetings, providing clear direction, motivation, and accountability.
  • Champion the company culture and maintain high levels of employee engagement and performance within the sales team.
  • Ensure the effective use of HubSpot and adherence to the company’s sales processes to optimize sales efforts and outcomes.

2. Team Development and Performance Management

  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing sales team capable of meeting company goals.
  • Implement an appraisal system that sets clear responsibilities, performance standards, and sales targets for each team member.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development to enhance the team's technical knowledge and sales skills.
  • Regularly evaluate team performance in the field, offering constructive feedback and development plans to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and administer the sales commission plan to align with company objectives and motivate the team.

3. Sales Administration and Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the sales administration function, focusing on streamlining processes and optimizing operational performance.
  • Establish a robust system for tracking sales metrics, generating reports, and conducting cyclical sales meetings to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with senior management to maximize business relationships and enhance customer service.

4. Strategic Planning and Market Analysis

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop the annual sales plan, including realistic sales forecasts, promotional strategies, and budget considerations.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and sales data to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in sales, with at least 5+ years selling solutions to the commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of at least 5+ years in sales leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to lead teams to consistently exceed KPIs and revenue targets.
  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in negotiating and securing major accounts, with the ability to sell complex solutions at both the executive and operational levels.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong capability in sales planning, market analysis, and strategy development.
  • Technology Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of HubSpot, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to build relationships, coach teams, and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Results-Driven: Highly disciplined approach to sales, with a strong focus on results and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience with dual-fuel systems, liquid-to-gas conversions, or similar technical sales.
  • Certification in sales management or relevant professional credentials (e.g., Certified Sales Leader, CSP).
