Job DescriptionJob Description

Tolunay-Wong Engineers (TWE) is seeking applicants for a Field Geotechnical Technician in our Houston, Texas office. The position supports geotechnical soil test boring operations, not petroleum explorations. Please note this is a labor-intensive job. Experienced and inexperienced candidates are encouraged to apply. We provide all necessary training.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare clear and legible borehole logs including stratifying and classifying soils
  • Assist drilling team with various field activities as necessary
  • Complete required daily reports, and vehicle and equipment inspections
  • Attend all safety meetings and comply with company and client safety standards and programs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment and job site areas
  • Support and adhere to company quality policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willing to travel and possess a dependable pick-up truck or equivalent
  • Able to pass an initial, random, and annual hair follicle drug test
  • Hold a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record
  • Able to physically implement work duties assigned in various weather elements
  • Willing to work diligently and take ownership over work
  • Work well in team environment
