Summary

The purpose of this position is to oversee the company’s accounting records and General Ledger, ensuring accuracy through investigation, analysis, reconciliation, and recording of financial data. This is currently a single person function with clerical assistance. This is an onsite position.

Essential Functions

  1. Perform or oversee invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections operations.
  2. Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to financial records ledgers within an ERP system.
  3. Complete bank reconciliation tasks and conduct analysis of cash accounts.
  4. Prepare bank deposits, ensuring accurate transmission of cash, checks, or ACH.
  5. Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow statements.
  6. Prepare fundamental journal entries and conduct reconciliation and analysis on work papers.
  7. Compile, validate, and finalize month-end closing procedures for the organization.
  8. Assist in monthly financial reporting activities and analysis.
  9. Manage reconciliation of interdepartmental accounts.
  10. Validate and process expense reports and commissions.
  11. Conduct financial calculations including amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
  12. Generate new asset entries, execute depreciation calculations, and compile requisite reports.
  13. Perform or oversee filing, maintenance and disposal of financial related documents.
  14. Calculate operational costs by assessing absorption costs within the production process and gathering operational data.
  15. Work closely with the Executive Team and Operational Mangers to pinpoint the underlying causes of issues and deliver impactful solutions.
  16. Work with the Executive Team to develop an annual budget and establish monthly forecast.
  17. Liaise with CPA firm to file state and federal taxes and/or incentives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar field required.
  • Certifications such as CPA, CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting in a manufacturing setting required.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Proficiency in ERP based accounting software (Epicor, SAP, Oracle).
  • Understanding of the principles of cost allocation, cost control, and cost management.

Competencies

  • Trustworthy and capable of maintaining ethical conduct.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Acute analytical abilities are crucial for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions.
  • Ability to interpret complex accounting standards, consolidate financial data, and ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure financial reporting is accurate and in compliance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and delays.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer.

  • Manufacturing facility – must comply with all safety regulations and PPE requirements
