Indorama Ventures Sustainable Recycling in Dallas is seeking a diligent and experienced Controls Room Operator to join our team. The Controls Room Operator will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring and control of systems critical to our operations. This includes ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment, responding to alarms, and collaborating with various departments to maintain optimal performance.

Summary: Under minimal supervision, responsible for monitoring the operations of a bottle sort line, a flake washing line, flake sorting, and 3 extrusion lines and oversees the functioning of the equipment, checking the indicator screens, parameters, and alarms. Quickly responds to issues online and notifies the appropriate person for prompt action.

 

Control Room Operator Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and respond appropriately to alarms and data from the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer system.
  • Respond to alarms and problems within a line and takes corrective measures by coordinating between Shift Supervisor, Team Leads, and Operators
  • Monitor laboratory test results during shift and take corrective action as necessary to meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Monitors camera system to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives
  • Generates work orders as needed and coordinates the issuance of work permits and its closure.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of NRT cleaning tasks.
  • Oversees the flow of information and reports, coordinates actions when necessary, and ensures management is informed of re-occurring operational issues.
  • Maintains various operational records and logs and produces operational reports.
  • Maintains accountability of radios
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as required by management.

Control Room Operator Qualifications: (These examples do not include all of the duties which the employee may be expected to perform.) To perform this job successfully an individual must:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent job experience; additional technical certifications or relevant education is a plus.
  • Able to sit and monitor computer screens for a 12-hour period.
  • Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English (Bilingual in Spanish a plus)
  • Demonstrate good logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to create and administer a task priority list based on company needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems
  • Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues and make informed decisions.
