Kings County client is seeking a Receiving/Shipping & Warehouse Supervisor for a DIRECT HIRE opportunity

Objective:
Under moderate supervision the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising the details of shipping product accurately and timely against orders. The position also is responsible for supervising the receiving function. The position supervises warehouse clerks and forklift drivers to set, load and verify orders and receive incoming items. Position is responsible for creating and/or verifying all paperwork associated with product shipping receiving, including Orders, Certificate of Analysis, Bill of Ladings, weight tickets, etc. The
position also directly helps with the management of warehouse inventories.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Generates order paperwork and verifies all other associated and required paperwork is complete with order.
B. Reviews customer Certificates of Analysis against sales order requirements.
C. Supervises correctly graded and certified product matches sales order requirements, ensures case / box / super sack markings are correct and verifies correct quantities and sizes of product for orders.
D. Checks inbound / outbound scale weight tickets for under shipment and over shipment and validates expected order weight.
E. Ensures trailers are fit for product storage conditions.
F. Manages finished goods floor stock and performs routine cycle counts.
G. Manages inventory packaging supply stock levels by performing routine cycle counts and directing the placement of packaging supply purchase orders.
H. Trains shipping personnel on proper shipping procedures.
I. Prioritize, schedule and assign fork truck and warehouse clerk’s tasks.
J. Help in maintaining critical supply inventory.
K. Ensures proper stock rotation.
L. Maintains a clean, safe and orderly warehouse.
M. Assist with expansion/modification projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
B. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook and Word.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION JOB DESCRIPTION
A. Communication / interpersonal skills with the ability to train, direct and lead fork truck drivers and warehouse clerks.
B. Knowledge of safety standards and a safety conscious attitude.
C. Good problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
D. Possess good communication skills to effectively convey ideas, both written and oral.
E. Strong time management skills to meet deadlines balanced with a strong attention to detail and quality.
F. Possess problem solving skills to develop feasible realistic solutions to problems, recommending actions designed to prevent problems from occurring, and referring problems to supervisor when necessary.
G. Works directly with Production personnel.
H. Knowledge of GMP and Food Safety policies and practices and enforces these and all other company policies.
Marginal Position Requirements:
A. Be able to effectively read and understand written information, including memos, reports, and bulletins.
B. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions verbally or in written form.
C. Mathematical ability to calculate basic arithmetic problems without the aid of a calculator.

Essential Physical Requirements:
A. Body Position and Movement:
1. Light lifting, under 25 lbs.
2. Light carrying, under 25 lbs.
3. Stand by maintaining entire body in erect posture without change in location.
4. Bend by flexing upper-trunk forward (knees extended; standing, knees flexed; sitting).

5. Stoop by flexing upper-trunk forward at waist and partially flexing knees.
6. Crouch by flexing upper-trunk forward at waist and partially flexing knees.
7. Walk by moving entire body for some distance using heel/toe gait.

B. Environmental Demands:
1. All work, except while conducting administrative office work, is performed in ambient warehouse temperature environment.
2. Lifting, climbing, bending, and reaching are activities required to perform
maintenance work, including ascending and descending ladders, stairs, poles,
inclined surfaces.
3. Working around moving machinery.
4. Exposure to dust, fumes, smoke, gases or other irritating articles.
5. Exposure to excessive noises.

Physical Requirements:
1. Moderate lifting, 25-49 lbs.
2. Moderate carrying, 25-49 lbs.
3. Push by exerting force upon or against an object in order to move it away.
4. Pull by drawing or hauling toward oneself, in a particular direction, or into a particular position.
5. Driving automotive equipment.
6. Exposure to slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
