Job DescriptionJob Description

Rancho Ready Mix, LP, manufacturer and supplier of ready mix concrete in the Inland Empire, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations & Maintenance Manager responsible for overseeing 3 ready mix plants to ensure the most timely and cost effective operations as well as efficient utilization of all support equipment. Will manage direct reports and labor relationships and will ensure customer satisfaction through timely deliveries. Promotes quality control, safety programs, and regulatory compliance. Responsible for scheduling and managing the maintenance of ready mix plants and trucks. Working through the ready mix plant managers, organizes and guides the employees through daily tasks to ensure that projects are completed in a productive, safe and timely manner. Also responsible for insuring compliance with DOT, CARB, BIT Inspection, and other mobile fleet regulations, as well as OSHA/CalOSHA regulations in the plants.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manages three plant production operations to insure cost efficiency, and optimal utilization of plant and equipment.

· Manages and provides training for production and maintenance personnel.

· Coordinates with the sales force to maintain the balance between sales and production.

Requests equipment purchases and fills out requests for CapEx.

· Analyzes production and financial reports to determine what areas can be improved.

· Coordinates with Safety Manager and Environmental Managers, as well as the Legal Department and regulatory agencies on compliance issues.

· Oversees the repairing of malfunctions and the installation of new equipment.

· Manage all aspects of DOT compliance.

· Insure fleet availability while controlling maintenance costs.

· Working with Pac Agg GM, schedules repairs at the ready mix plants.

· Assists Plant Managers with customer relations and logistics

· Knowledge of equipment, safety and environmental regulations (MSHA and OSHA), equipment application and operation, material specifications.

· Knowledge ACI, ASTM, Cal Trans, Greenbook and other Technical Standards.

· PC skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel

· Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.

· Ability to plan and manage effectively.

· Must represent company in a professional manner to all customers, vendors, and internal personnel.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically and to stand and walk for long periods of time.

· Use of telephone, computers, cell phones and other electronic devices is essential.

· Must have the ability to drive an automobile and possess a valid driver’s license.

· Complies with all safety, environmental, and regulatory laws relating to plant operations.

· Maintains a safe work environment by following all Company safety rules, standard operating procedures and general management practices.

· Follows the Company’s Employee Standards of Expectations of Behavior.

· Performs other duties as directed.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Requires direct supervisory responsibilities for one or more of the following positions:

All Rancho Ready Mix employees, which may include, Mixer Drivers, Batch Plant Managers, Loader Operators, Yardmen, Plant and Fleet Mechanics, Quality Control Technicians

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education

- High school graduation or its equivalent is required.

- College courses in Management, Conflict Resolution and or Production or equivalent, is preferred

 

Experience

- Five (5) years’ experience in ready mix concrete operations or maintenance management.

- A track record of successful leadership in all facets of plant operations.

- Must have excellent safety work record, leadership and people management skills; employee training experience preferred.

- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA/Cal OSHA regulations

- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

- Knowledge of Lytx Drive Cam, Digital Fleet GPS, and or Command and Jonel computer systems a plus.

 

Successful candidate must submit to a post offer pre-employment physical exam, drug screen and background check.
