POSITION OVERVIEW:
The candidate will support the Billing Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the billing and finance department. This role requires a deep understanding of medical billing practices, coding systems, and excellent organizational skills to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the revenue cycle management process.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Assist in the management of daily billing operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance providers.
  • Work closely with the Billing Manager to provide guidance and support to the billing department.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with multiple ACT teams to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Stay informed about changes in medical coding regulations and assist in ensuring compliance.
  • Participate in regular coding audits to verify accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Support the implementation of strategies to minimize billing errors and denials.
  • Contribute to the optimization of the revenue cycle from charge entry to payment posting.
  • Collaborate with the Billing Manager in addressing claim denials and appeals.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues causing claim rejections.
  • Contribute to the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the billing department.
  • Assist in analyzing performance metrics and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Work closely with the Billing Manager to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other industry standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare laws and regulations affecting medical billing.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in medical billing, with a proven track record of excellence.
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices, coding systems, and reimbursement policies.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance payers and policies.
  • Proficient knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel.
