RAJA Medical, a manufacturer of leading-edge medical equipment for the professional aesthetic industry is seeking a detail-oriented hands-on Controller who would be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all accounting and finance-related activities. This will be a full-time on-site position in Falls Church, Virginia. We are looking for someone who is ultimately responsible for and manages the entire accounting, tax, and compliance reporting function.

  • Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps the books and records on all company transactions, assets, and liabilities.
  • Ensures the accurate recording of all transactions to the general ledger accounts.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate filing of semi-monthly payroll, monthly sales tax, annual business tax and tangible property tax returns.
  • Ensures compliance with all jurisdictions and investigates and resolves account discrepancies, audit findings, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Manages and prepares reports, schedules and documentation for annual general liability and workman’s compensation audits.
  • Manages and oversees the administration of company’s health benefit programs.
  • Manages and oversees the company's HR function.
  • Prepares financial analyses and reports if/when needed.
  • Manages and prepares for audits.
  • Collaborates with external counterparts such as insurers, lawyers, and auditors.
  • Performs other accounting duties and supports junior staff as required.

Controller Requirements:

  • Master's degree in accounting required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Quickbooks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • 7+ years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting rules.
  • Extensive understanding of Trial Balance Accounting and General Ledger Entries.
  • Extensive knowledge of required federal and state payroll reports.
  • Experience in filing state sales tax reports.
  • Experience with performing annual general liability and workman’s compensation audits.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to work with vast amounts of data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to train and manage staff.
  • Must be hands on and willing to perform all accounting tasks as needed.
  • Ability to work with no supervision.

Salary and Benefits

·        This is a 100% on-site full-time position with benefits. The candidate will ultimately be taking over the entire accounting function from the Chief Financial Officer and responsible for building out the accounting department.

·       Starting Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 / yr depending on experience and qualifications plus bonus. 

·       Benefits include Health, Dental and Vision insurance, paid vacation, sick days, and holidays.
