Who We Are Looking For

The Works Wonders® Workforce Readiness program connects teens and young adults (ages 16-26) to meaningful employment. The Employment Coordinator manages all aspects of the Works Wonders program.

Requirements:

Responsibilities of the Employment Coordinator

  • Recruit young adults to participate in the Works Wonders® Workforce Readiness program.
  • Co-teach the 12-hour classroom portion of the program following the Works Wonders® curriculum. Be flexible to teach based on participants schedules.
  • Provide 12 weeks of 1-1 coaching following the classroom experience by meeting with clients each week. Meetings may take place at the resource center, in the client’s home, at a worksite, or at alternate locations in the community.
  • Assist each client to develop a career portfolio.
  • Arrange informational interviews, job shadowing experiences, internships, and work experiences for clients.
  • Develop relationships with community members and employers
  • Assists clients in finding and maintaining meaningful employment consistent with their goals
  • Works closely with community partners to provide communication about each client’s progress in achieving his/her work goals
  • Prepare and maintain case files, records, reports, and forms accurately and completely, and keep them up to date at all times

What we expect in the Employment Coordinator at Monroe Harding


Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in a social services/education/employment services or a related field and a minimum of 2 year of experience training in a group setting.


Qualifications Required

  • Proven experience working with youth ages 16-26
  • Established knowledge of employment and training programs to include interviewing techniques, vocational and employment related assessments, and use of labor market information to connect participants to jobs.
  • Has a strong commitment to the inclusion of all individual in the workplace and the ability to support individuals in their efforts to become valued and productive employees
  • Demonstrate professional office standards of attendance, behavior, appearance, and communication
  • Must understand appropriate boundaries with youth, coworkers, and community contacts

Applicants must pass thorough background check and drug screen. Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license.
