JOB DESCRIPTION, ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
BoPat Electric is seeking to fill a position for an experienced Construction Foreman. The Electrical Foreman is responsible for the overall supervision of an electrical crew. This includes planning, scheduling, and coordinating the work of the crew, as well as ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards. The Electrical Foreman also provides training and guidance to the crew members and is responsible for the quality of the work performed. Foremen at BoPat Electric have access to iPads to assist with job execution in the field. A Foreman is responsible for the overall job execution. You are the face of BoPat in the field – Stay Organized, Stay Positive, Stay in Constant Communication with Customer, Subcontractors, and the Office. You must carry out 100% of your responsibilities, 100% of the time – Responsibilities include:
Planning, Organizing, and Scheduling:
o Must conduct a kick-off meeting with the PM and the Superintendent.
o Develop work schedules and allocate resources to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.
o Foreman MUST plan for material and workforce/crew 2 Weeks-Ahead.
o You MUST NOT perform any work that is not in the plans. Material Management: o Responsible for ordering material through the Buyer at BoPat, and then receiving & tracking materials.
o Foremen must conduct a minimum of 2-Week Look-Ahead, and place orders accordingly.
Safety:
o Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and practices.
o Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.
o Provide training and guidance to crew members on safety procedures.
o Must conduct weekly toolbox talks, turn in weekly safety notes, and sign off AHJs.
o Provide warnings and document any employee not regularly wearing their PPE.
Production, Quality Control & Compliance:
o Responsible for ensuring quality of electrical workmanship, including that of ALL employees.
o Implement quality control processes. Inspect the work of the crew regularly.
o Foreman must always stay on the job and minimize unproductive time through proper planning.
o Ensure all electrical work follows the NEC code in the jurisdiction. You may coordinate with inspectors and ensure all necessary inspections are obtained.
o MUST check Procore or similar GC software every week for any changes to drawings. Immediately report to the PM and Superintendent if any changes are found.
Communication & Recordkeeping:
o Communicate with customers (GCs), PMs, Superintendent, Sub-Contractors to provide progress updates, address concerns, and ensure effective coordination.
o Document work progress, materials used, delays, and any changes or deviations from the original plan. Keep Daily Logs.
o You are responsible for recording daily roll calls via iPad.
Training and Guidance:
o Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to less experienced electricians, helping them develop their skills and knowledge about electrical construction, code, procedures, and techniques.
Attendance, Appearances & Field Leadership:
o Arrive at least 15 minutes early to site. Be prepared to start yourself, and the crew. This preparation must be done when wrapping the day before.
o The crew is looking at you for all aspects of leadership. They are learning good and bad habits from you – so Dress Neat & Clean, Stay Properly Equipped, keep your Van Clean, and keep your jobsite Organized.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- OSHA 30 certified. CPR certified. Equipment cards.
