Position Summary/Objective:

The Fulfillment Manager will oversee the day-to-day fulfillment needs of Born Primitive and manage the fulfillment team as needed. This position will require decision making, strong management skills, and the ability to prioritize and shift tasks based on changing fulfillment needs. The Fulfillment Manager will need to be organized, have strong attention to detail, and interpersonal skills to allow proper management of employees and their tasks. This position will report to the Senior Warehouse Manager to ensure all tasks at hand are identified, delegated appropriately, and completed in a timely manner as directed by the Director of Warehouse Operations and the Executive Team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of our brand by fully learning our products and understanding our brand ethos

  • Distribute daily assignments to all Fulfillment employees, ensuring clear instructions and timely completion of tasks

  • Manage scheduling and timesheets for Fulfillment employees

  • In conjunction with Human Resources, will be responsible for new employee onboarding, ongoing employee training, and employee performance management

  • Identify the need and assist with recruiting efforts for additional staff as necessary to meet Fulfillment demands

  • Oversee the order fulfillment process, from receiving orders to picking, packing, shipping, and troubleshooting any errors within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

  • Ensure all orders are processed and shipped promptly to meet and exceed customer expectations to include handling expedited shipping orders, wholesale orders, and custom apparel orders with specific parameters

  • Monitor order flow and identify potential bottlenecks, implementing solutions to streamline operations within WMS

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by overseeing regular cycle counts and audits

  • Coordinate with the Inventory Control team to resolve discrepancies and ensure stock availability for order fulfillment

  • Implement best practices for inventory organization and storage and plan accordingly for any upcoming changes

  • Collaborate with other members of the warehouse management team to ensure departments are aligned

  • Conduct quality checks on picked and packed orders to ensure they meet company standards

  • Address and resolve issues related to order accuracy, product quality, and packaging

  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain high-quality fulfillment processes

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the Fulfillment center and report any hazards if identified

  • Main contact for any order related requests coming from other departments

  • Liaise with the WMS point of contact to address any system issues impacting order processing

  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers, co-workers, and employees at all times

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fulfillment, warehouse, or distribution environment, with at least 2 years in a management role.

Required Characteristics:

  • Ability to thrive in a quickly growing and very fast paced work environment

  • Ability to meet deadlines while tasked with multiple projects

  • Posses communication skills both verbal and written

  • Ability to formulate professional correspondence

  • Must be available to work onsite Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, as well as occasional Holidays and weekends


Physical Requirements:

Standing desks are available for use when needed. Associates will be expected to constantly climb stairs, bend, stoop, walk, lift up to 10 lbs, and crouch as needed. Occasionally associates in this position may be asked to push/pull up to 50 lbs. Associates will constantly work in extreme conditions (heat/cold), and/or travel on a voluntary basis.
