Job Brief

We are looking for a high-potential leader desiring a fast track to Chief Financial Officer. The position will manage, plan, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. This role plays a crucial part in managing the company’s financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This would include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. This is an in-person position; on-site is required.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

  • Month-end and year-end process
  • Accounts payable/receivable
  • General ledger maintenance and analysis
  • Financial forecasting/budgeting/projections
  • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
  • Capital assets administration and reconciliations
  • Bank account and credit card reconciliations
  • Debt activity

Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles in accordance with GAAP.

Generate regular financial reports timely and analysis for management review.

Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support decision-making processes.

Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Continuous development of oversight reports and improving efficiencies to allow for growth with the current team.

Supervise a team providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Foster a positive and productive work environment to align with the company culture, encouraging teamwork and professional development.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of company divisions and operations to oversee revenue team, ensure timely processing to meet deadlines, and to properly allocate revenue and expenses.

Registration of Company in new states, maintenance of Registered Agent, LLC Registrations, business licenses and renewals of all in applicable states.

·Manage multi-state sales tax registration and preparation of sales tax returns.

·Manage Company and Customer Sales Tax Exemption records.

· Monitor and administer vehicle registrations.

· Ensure standard operating procedures are current and effective; develop SOP’s as needed.

· Provide support for software conversions and ensure the maximization of existing software for analysis and communication.

·Support team in maintaining customer and vendor records.

· Handles Company annual insurance renewals.

· Participates in producing workpapers needed to provide to CPA for income tax preparations.

Requirements and Skills

  • Fifteen (15) years of recent, proven, successful working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager or similar role.
  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site, in-person
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  • NetSuite experience a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases. Net Suite experience a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Ability to direct and supervise the accounting/billing team.
  • Ability to work in an in-person environment.
  • Other duties commensurate with this role.
