Aegis Worldwide is currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer for a leading industrial machinery manufacturer in Lyons Township, IL. An ideal candidate would be someone with experience as a customer service rep at a manufacturing company, solving technical issues. You'll play a vital role is solving technical issues over the phone around parts or machine issues.
- Direct Hire, full benefits, 401k match, and opportunity to move and grow within the company
- Base Pay: 75k to 97k
Job Qualifications:
- High School GED/Diploma Required, an Associate or Bachelor degree is a Plus
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role as a Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Customer Service Engineer or related.
- OR 1+ years of electrical engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging PLCs and HMIs on newly installed equipment.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC product lines.
- Willingness to travel 55% of the time, including internationally.
- Ability to perform I/O checks on equipment before startup and commissioning, both at the factory and customer sites
Job Responsibilities:.
- Install and commission all equipment manufactured by CHSC and NECO at factory or assigned customer site.
- Repair or modify equipment according to specifications at customer facilities in a timely manner to ensure full functionality.
- Provide onsite technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment in a reasonable amount of time.
- Redline electrical schematics and mechanical drawings as required to communicate required changes to engineering and manufacturing departments.
- Load HMI and PLC programming for the assigned equipment and
- Debug the PLC program as needed while test running the equipment.
- Update PLC and HMI programs as necessary and communicate the changes to engineering.
- Conduct training operators, maintainers and users of equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, or computer-generated reports.
- Provide a communication link between the customer and Factory to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
- Travel as needed to customer sites (estimated to be about 55% of the time).
- Assemble machinery (electrical and mechanical assembly) when in house.
