Job DescriptionJob Description

Family owned CNC Shop in Romeoville, IL is looking for a CNC Shop Manager. The Shop Manager is responsible for ensuring all areas of production are meeting / exceeding company goals. They will be tasked with overseeing all machining processes and operations within the shop. Key components of this position include:

Ø Daily management of the shop floor; staging jobs, maintaining employee schedules, running machines during employee absences when needed, ensuring job due dates are met and monitoring the accuracy of Job Boss attendance and job hours data

Ø Reporting to leadership

Ø Troubleshooting production issues, machine issues and addressing malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime

Ø Working with machinists, design and production engineers to identify and execute process improvements and automating repetitive manual tasks

Ø Reviewing product specifications

Ø Improving efficiency and streamlining production processes

Ø Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring team members adhere to safety regulations

Ø Leading a team of CNC operators, setters and programmers while providing guidance, support and training as necessary

Ø Supervising Maintenance; assisting with repairs and scheduling preventative maintenance on all machines and tooling

Required Qualifications

Ø High School Diploma or GED

Ø 1+ year of CNC Machinist experience

Ø 1+ year operating multi axis CNC mills and lathes

Ø 3+ years of prior leadership experience

Ø 2+ years programming / using G-Code

Ø Ability to read blueprints, GDT, inspection equipment and tooling

Preferred Skills and Experience

Ø 5+ years CNC Machinist role within the Tube & Pipe Industry or Tool & Die Industry

Ø Extensive, successful experiences in the troubleshooting of manufacturing operations that include all machining processes

Ø Successfully experienced in supervising several resource teams with multiple machines and machinists simultaneously

Ø Successfully experienced in leading machinists and technicians to work with CNC programmers and engineers on process development and continuous improvement efforts

Ø Ability to read and interpret all blueprints and engineering drawings

Additional Requirements

Ø Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body and lifting 25lbs. unassisted

Ø Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors and noise

Ø Must be able to work all shift hours and weekends as needed
