We are working with a well established construction company who is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join their team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, coordinating with various individuals within the company, and ensuring that all estimates align with the company's quality standards and budgetary goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed cost estimates for new residential construction projects, remodels, and other housing-related ventures.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other related documents to determine scope and identify potential cost impacts.
- Conduct material take-offs, labor cost analysis, and subcontractor bid evaluations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive estimates.
- Monitor and maintain a database of cost information for materials, labor, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and up-to-date data.
- Prepare bid packages and submit detailed proposals for review and approval.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
