Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Grinder to join our team. The Grinder will be responsible for operating grinding machines to ensure our springs are precisely flattened and straightened. This role is crucial to maintaining the high standards of quality our customers expect from Ace Wire Spring & Form Co.

Grinding Machines:

  • Nimsco
  • Schenker
  • Besly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load springs into the grinding machine accurately and efficiently.
  • Adjust the grinding machine to the correct height settings according to specific product requirements.
  • Operate the grinding machine to grind down springs using a grindstone, ensuring they are flattened and any imperfections are removed.
  • Monitor the grinding process to maintain consistent quality and identify any potential issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the grinding machine to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished springs to verify they meet company standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating grinding machines or similar machinery is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
