Job Overview

Rust Belt Recruiting is seeking a skilled Milling Machinist to join our team in a manufacturing environment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating vertical mills and determining machining requirements using blueprints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and Operation: Setup and operate vertical mills, including mounting, aligning, and securing workpieces.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
  • Job Management: Manage day-to-day milling tasks, including making necessary adjustments for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Cross-Training: Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn lathe operations and expand skill set.
  • Programming: Program and edit milling operations using Mastercam or other CAM software. Adjust programs as needed based on changes and specifications.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a mill machinist with a strong background in programming and operating vertical mills.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Mastercam or other CAM software. Ability to learn and adapt to new software as needed.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and machining processes.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in all machining tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the milling process.
